An Evening with Katherena Vermette *SOLD OUT*
March 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm$20
THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT
Join Kingston WritersFest and Queen’s Reads for a special offseason event featuring author Katherena Vermette as she discusses her career and her multi-award winning book The Break.
When Stella, a young Métis mother, looks out her window one evening and spots someone in trouble on the Break ― a barren field on an isolated strip of land outside her house ― she calls the police to alert them to a possible crime. In a series of shifting narratives, people who are connected, both directly and indirectly, with the victim ― police, family, and friends ― tell their personal stories leading up to that fateful night.
A book signing will follow the onstage event. Books will be available for sale from Novel Idea books at the back of the room.
Are you a member of the Queen’s community? A limited number of free tickets are available to students, staff, and faculty members of Queen’s University. Find out more here.
BONUS: All event attendees will enjoy FREE access to the current not-to-be-missed Kent Monkman Shame and Prejudice exhibition.
Tickets $20 advance. Price includes HST and all handling fees.
Advance tickets available online* here and at Novel Idea Books.
All tickets to this event are now SOLD OUT. The venue is at capacity, and there will NOT be rush tickets at the door.
If you have already purchased a ticket, a reminder that your Paypal receipt doubles as your ticket. Please print out your receipt or display it at the door to the event. You will not be issued a separate ticket for this event.
