Finding Freedom: Beyond the Binary

September 26, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In 2018, filmmaker Luna Ferguson made history as the first person in Ontario to receive a birth certificate declaring their gender as non-binary. Their memoir, Me, Myself, They, explores how they transformed early traumas into creativity, strength, and empathy. Luna also celebrates the decades-long work of activists for transgender visibility and safety, and invites us to consider our own fluidity and potential for identity to change. Joined by gender studies researcher and advocate Lee Airton, this promises to be a poignant and important conversation.
