Can humans and wolves co-exist? Author Paula Wild asks a question that has major ramifications for our place in this world. She considers the myths and fears surrounding wolves, the history of conflict between our two species, current scientific and wildlife-management practices, and the contrasting current popularity of the wolf as the “poster child” for endangered species. As humans and wolves now live in closer proximity than most of us imagine, our actions now, more than ever, determine our shared future.
