Louisa Onomé is a Nigerian-Canadian writer of books for teens and adults. She holds a BA in professional writing and an MA in counselling psychology. Like Home, her debut young adult novel, was critically acclaimed, receiving several starred reviews and being named a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.

Her latest young adult book, Twice as Perfect, artfully weaves together the pressure of being the children of immigrants with the enormous love of one’s culture and family.  Through the novel, Onomé celebrates family, friendship, and finding yourself.

“A heartfelt story about growing up and discovering one’s passions amongst familial and communal expectations,” writes Laila Sabreen, author of You Truly Assumed. Twice as Perfect captures the ups and downs that come with belonging in two worlds.”

When Louisa is not writing, she is working as a narrative designer in games. She currently resides in the Toronto area.

Louisa is sponsored by Author Patron, Judith Brown.
