Description
Kingston WritersFest is thrilled to launch the 2026 Festival with an extraordinary evening featuring one of Canada’s most powerful literary voices: award-winning author Michelle Good, author of Five Little Indians. A co-production with Lodge Pole Arts Alliance, the event takes place on September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Michelle will be joined on stage by legendary broadcaster Shelagh Rogers for an intimate conversation about her highly anticipated new novel, Eliza Sunshine, a sweeping family saga that traces three generations of Cree women bound together by story, survival, and the land itself.
We are also honored to feature an exclusive musical performance by acclaimed singer-songwriter Kym Gouchie.
The event will be hosted by Terri-Lynn Brennan, Executive Director, Lodge Pole Alliance for the Arts.
This event is sponsored by Professional Investments (Kingston) Inc.

Purchase tickets online, in-person at the Isabel Box Office (390 King St West), or by phone at 613-533-2424. The Isabel Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 12:30 pm to 4:30pm.

Short Story Showcase
Three masterful storytellers take the festival stage to show exactly how much narrative power, depth, and precision can be packed into the short story form. Make ‘Em Laugh
No matter the genre, every writer can benefit from incorporating humor. Whether to relieve tension, refine a character, or provoke a belly laugh, a bit of funny improves any text.
