WRITERS STUDIO IS BACK FOR KWF 2026!
Be part of it by joining our Master Class Faculty
Based on our success with last year’s Master Classes, we are inviting proposals from skilled creative writing teachers with fresh approaches and engaging content.
We’re ready to explore new frontiers in any form or genre, looking deeply at any aspect of writing aimed at writers from novice to advanced.
This year’s Writers Studio Master Classes take place at the same time as Kingston WritersFest— October 1-4, 2026 at the Kingston Marriott (285 King St E.). Our teaching spaces range from an intimate boardroom-style setting (capacity 25) to a larger 50-seat room.

For Readers
THE READERS SALON IS ALSO OPEN FOR PROPOSALS
We are also opening up proposals to our widely popular series aimed at readers. The Readers Salon is a 60-minute Masters Class for book lovers who want more from their reading experience. Teachers of these classes focus on a form or a way to read a text and tools for a richer, more expansive reading experience.

Benefits for Writers Studio and the Readers Salon Faculty
- Discount on hotel accommodations or community billet: The Kingston Marriott offers a discounted rate to Writers Studio faculty. If desired, our free billeting service can match you with appropriate hosts.
- Event access: Writers Studio instructors will receive free tickets to all onstage events.
- Kiosk at our Festival Bookstore: Writers Studio instructors are welcome to bring copies of their books and any merchandise for sale at a designated table at our Festival Bookstore, located within the Marriott Hotel.
Please note: Travel expenses are not covered.

The form allows you to submit two proposals at once and you can indicate on the form if you are proposing either a Master Class or Readers Salon. You can also submit a proposal for each!
A panel will assess all submissions and reach out with a decision within three weeks after the deadline.
Submissions are open until midnight, April 3rd.
Writers Studio Master Classes are open to everyone 15 years of age or over. Minimum class size is 10.
